Why I Finally Started This Blog (And Why It’s Your Turn Now)
This my friend, has been a long time coming.
I’ve wanted to start a blog for years. Actually, let me rephrase that…I’ve wanted to start a SUCCESSFUL blog for years. And I mean REALLY start one. Build it. Grow it. Just overall make something out of it.
But every time I tried, I’d lose steam. Either I didn’t know what I was doing, or I second-guessed myself until I eventually quit. Over and over again.
Still, something in me kept coming back to the idea.
And now? I’m finally doing it for real.
No fluff. No perfectionism. I’m just a guy who’s learned from a lot of mistakes, ready to finally show up and build something worth sticking with.
Why I’m Starting This Blog
I started Blog Like a Bro because I wanted to create the kind of resource I wish I had when I first got into blogging.
Not some overhyped, fake-it-till-you-make-it type of thing. I’m talking about real, practical stuff that actually helps.
I know what it’s like to feel stuck. To want more freedom, more purpose, more income. At the same time, not really know where to start or what to believe.
There’s a lot of noise out there, and most of it either overcomplicates things or sells a dream (or course 😡) with no real direction behind it.
This blog is my way of cutting through all that. I’m here to break things down, keep it honest, and help guys who are ready to build something of their own.
If you’re tired of the 9-to-5 grind and want to start a blog that actually has the potential to grow into something real, this site was made with you in mind.

What You Can Expect Here
I’m not trying to cover every topic under the sun.
This blog sticks to the stuff I know and care about. I’m focused on starting a blog, figuring out how to make money with it, staying consistent, and keeping your mindset sharp while you’re at it.
This is the space where I share what I’m doing, what’s working, what’s not, and what I’m learning as I go. That includes the wins, the flops, and everything in between.
You’re going to see posts about setting up a blog from scratch, even if you’re not super tech-savvy.
I’ll walk through things like picking a niche, setting up your first few posts, finding low-competition keywords, and how to avoid the common traps that trip up new bloggers.
I’m also going to talk about the business side of things, including ad networks, affiliate marketing, and how to grow your blog in a way that feels real, not scammy.
In other words, how to build something you’d actually be proud to show someone.
That could be your mom, your boss, or even that one friend who swears blogging is dead.
But this isn’t just about tactics. I’ll also be talking about mindset. That means staying focused when progress feels slow, pushing through when self-doubt creeps in, and figuring out how to keep going when no one’s watching yet.
The truth is, building a blog is a long game. And if you don’t have the right mindset, you’ll quit before things even have a chance to work. I’ve been there, done that, and I’m not doing it again.
If you’re looking for hype and shortcuts, this isn’t the place.
But if you want real talk, clear advice, and a place that shows what it’s really like to build a blog from the ground up, including the awkward first steps, caffeine-fueled writing sessions, and everything in between, then you’re in the right spot.

How I’m Approaching This
I’m not writing this as some expert who’s got it all figured out.
I’ve made a ton of mistakes, started and stopped more blogs than I can count, and spent way too much time convincing myself I wasn’t ready.
I’d research for weeks, buy courses, watch tutorials, and still not hit publish.
Every time I tried to start, I found a new excuse to delay it. Maybe the blog name wasn’t right. Maybe the design wasn’t perfect.
Maybe I needed just one more tool or a few more ideas. Truth is, I was scared to look like I didn’t know what I was doing.
But that mindset never got me anywhere. All it did was leave me stuck and frustrated. So now, I’m doing the one thing I’ve avoided for years.
I’m starting, showing up, and sharing the process while I figure things out. I’m not waiting until everything’s perfect, and I’m not trying to fake it. I’m just committing to the work, day by day.
And yes, that sometimes means blogging in pajamas at 2am with 10 tabs open, two half-finished orange Fantas, and a Google search for ‘how to sound like you know what you’re doing.’
Honestly, it’s chaos, but it’s my kind of chaos, and somehow, it still counts as progress.
This blog is my way of building in public. You won’t find perfectly polished advice from someone who made it big.
What you’ll see is someone learning out loud, being transparent about the process, and pushing through the same stuff you might be dealing with too.
I’m not chasing viral traffic or copying what’s trending. I’m here to build something that actually lasts. I want it to be something I can be proud of, and if it helps someone else along the way, even better.
If you’ve ever felt like you needed everything lined up before you hit publish, trust me, you’re not alone. I’ve lived it. But the truth is, you don’t need all the answers to begin.
You just need to start, keep showing up, and embrace the beautiful mess that comes with figuring it out on the fly.
The worst case scenario is you write something cringe as all hell, question your life choices, and fix it later. And if that’s the case, then all I gotta say is – welcome to the club my guy.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve made it this far, then first of all, you’re a legend. Second, I hope you’re walking away feeling a little more fired up to get started on your own thing.
This blog is going to grow, shift, and evolve over time in the same way I will. But the one thing that’s not changing is the commitment to keep showing up.
No matter how messy, uncertain, or awkward it feels, I’m in it. And if any of this resonated with you, I hope you stick around. Let’s figure this out together.
And if we lock arms on this journey and get it done, I’ll know you’re someone I’d do the Predator handshake with (you know the one) 💪🏽
You nailed it with the part about overhyped advice and fake-it-til-you-make-it stuff. There’s a huge need for more transparent voices in the blogging space—glad to see you’re stepping into that role.
Thank you very much!
